User Centered Design Practices
The first phase in any user-centered design project is to decide who is the user of the application to be designed.
For this, you have to conduct market research and carry out a socio-demographic study of the users of the application. Decide who your users will be based on the data obtained in this study. Each user group would have the following characteristics profiled.
Average Age:
Average income:
Education:
Lifestyle Trends:
Consumer Trends:
Based upon this profile a User Group would be defined.
The User Group is a profile of the audience we are trying to reach. It’s a demographic and/or psychographic portrait of the customer.
EX:
Customers who have purchased Albums of similar artists are looking for other independent artists.
Average Age 18-24.
Average income $28K.
Education: Seeking an undergraduate degree.
Lifestyle Trends: Live Music, home entertainment
Consumer Trends: iTunes Downloads, Video Games, Home entertainment systems
